Why, What, When and How

Why

There is a distinct advantage to commissioning work. You end up with EXACTLY what you want in terms of size and colour and technique. This applies to any item of my work (rugs, tapestries, scarves, hangings, pictures, cloth)

Design is not a magic but simply a series of informed decisions.  I can either do that for you, or you can be an integral part of that process.  The result is not only unique to your situation and needs, but you will have a different relationship to it.

What

When

Once you have decided what it is you want to commission, contact me or arrange a visit. There is no commitment necessary until later in the process. Talking through your needs helps to focus the mind on a number of design elements.

How

Once your needs are discussed I will send you ideas. Or you can spend some time making further decisions about your requirements and send me some of your specific thoughts. If I have been unable to visit your space, or meet with you in person, sending me some photographs or a scrap page of colours, ideas and likes, can be helpful to both parties.

In any case, work will only begin to develop once those decisions have been made, a price has been agreed and you are happy with the ideas that have come together. You do not have to be present for this process to be successful and commissions have taken place internationally.

Please feel free to contact me.
